DISPOSABLE LENSES

Due to the problems with extended 
wear of hydrogel lenses, which were 
thought to be due to dirty lenses and 
in some cases are, the concept of 
disposable lenses was introduced.  The 
strict definition of disposable lenses 
is that the lenses are worn once and 
thrown away.

The first disposable lenses were 
intented to be worn for one week of 
extended wear and thrown away.  A 
new lens was put on the next day and 
it was worn for a week.  No solutions or 
 cleaning were required.
